SafeSail

Everyone who participates in MAST has the right to a positive and enjoyable experience of sport in a safe environment. We acknowledges our duty of care to safeguard and promote the welfare of all individuals involved within MAST, whether members or guests.

Harassment or unsportsmanlike behavior at any MAST-conducted event is not tolerated. MAST sailors are expected to:

  • Behave in a respectful and friendly manner to all people participating.
  • Treat all participants fairly, regardless of gender, ethnicity, race, disability, gender identity, sexual orientation, age, faith or expression.
  • Refrain from any offensive speech or inappropriate actions which are derogatory, insulting, harassing, or otherwise deemed abusive.
  • Address any witnessed behavior either directly to offending parties or indirectly via safesail.org.

We first encourage participants to address misconduct as it is seen. We also understand that may not be possible or feel safe. To that end, you may also anonymously report violations that you experience or witness at safesail.org. Reports received there will be forwarded to the MAST contact automatically.

Reported violations of this policy will result in MAST taking appropriate action that may include anything from verbal warnings to removal from MAST to involvement of local law enforcement authorities.
